In 2007, the Old City had a population of about 3000 people. In December 2000, the Old City of Baku, including the Palace of the Shirvanshahs and Maiden Tower, became the first location in Azerbaijan to be classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

- Baku Boulevard- established in 1909 runs parallel to Baku’s seafront. Its history goes back more than 100 years, to a time when Baku oil barons built their mansions along the Caspian shore and when the seafront was artificially built up inch by inch.
- Little Venice- The Little Venice in Baku is the great & clean refreshing park to walk and relax with kids or the family. Very beautiful & astonishing surroundings. Feels like you are away from city yet in the city. Unique & lovely relaxing atmosphere. You can take a ride in gandolas (venetian boats), take the pictures, and just enjoy the trip.
